Moving to the US

I returned to New Zealand after the interview, and had three months to organise myself before the start of the apprenticeship with Ervin Somogyi. There was a fair amount to accomplish in that time. First I needed to finish and deliver my final guitar build with Hamurana Guitar Works. I filmed that portion of the project which you can see below.

Due to my situation, all the tools from the workshop needed to go into storage until after the apprenticeship. This turned out to be quite the project. After six years in that location, there was a lot of stuff to pack, and also some big and heavy tools to transport.

Workbench on the way out the door.

Empty workshop, and confused dog.

Goodbye Hamurana Guitar Works.

And goodbye New Zealand.

After a long flight, I arrived at my home for the next two years. The legendary Ervin Somogyi workshop.

Welcome.
